Ok, so we backtracked a tad. These photos are from Alex Cantin during the French Canadian invasion of Encinitas, CA. We had our first major premiere in the tour here, and almost the entire crew showed up. Lots of good times all around, but these following good times are through the eyes of the Quebecian Videograssers.

Camping!

I think the entire crew was Will Lavigne, Max Baillargeon, Alex Cantin, Louif Paradis, LNPenis, and Ben Bilocq. They all camped out on the beach for about 2 weeks. Surfing, video premieres, parties, camp fires, beers, bars, sugar cubes, sunsets, skateboarding, magazines, more video premieres, and ending it all with some snowboarding at the Bear contest.

Intense. In tents.

Max Baillargeon was lucky enough to wake up to the hairy manbeast known as Laurent Nicolas Paquin.

Alex getting ready to hang 10. Apparently surfing is quite popular in southern California.

Larry with some sort of boogie body boarder wake skate thing??

Camp fire. Pretty sure this is in Liam Gallagher’s back yard? I know it was really close to the camp site.

Can’t roll through Southern California and not stop by the Snowboarder Magazine office. Not sure what is so funny that Lance Hakker is showing Pat Bridges here? I would like to believe it is this…

Laurent and Max checking out some wall decor in the office.

Louie taking a casual stroll back towards Bridges’ office.

Lance Hakker holding it down. Tom Montessoro aka T-bird in the background hard at work.
Louie, Ben, Max, and Alex filling out some Guestbook action.

After that, everyone was feeling magish and took a little stop by the friends at Transworld.

Some skate action inside the Transworld park. From the looks of the photo I would say Laurent didn’t land this 360 flip. But check the video for some makes.

The skateparks in California require helmets. Louie looks like one of them bobble head figures.

Laurent and Lindsay Robertson straight chillin’
Larry putting on an airshow.

Une tequila, deux tequila, trois tequila, quatre tequila, cinq tequila.

This guy again. Snarski bringing that thunder from down under.

Larry thumb gunning a beer at the Transworld premiere.

Transworld had free food. Maybe next year we will have a premiere with free food?

Alex getting sauced at the TWS premiere along with TWS’ very own, double fisting, Ben Gavelda.

The next night was the Videograss/Hard 2 Earn premiere. Everyone got down on some skate action pre premiere. Laurent rockin the top.

Ben Bilocq almost getting that coping.

Out front of La Paloma. The spot of the premiere. Left to right: Alex Cantin, Louie Paradise, Jan Snarski, Ben Bilocq, and someone with a wicked afro.

Larry picking the dog shit off his shoe with his bare hands.

I think this is after Kyle Kennedy aka Party Dad, got bitten by a snaggle toothed homeless lady. From the looks of it he is telling Ben the story about how nasty this lady was.

Jan fell in love the night of the premiere. Hopefully things panned out and he will soon be an American citizen!

Back at base camp late that night. From the looks of it Alex didn’t stay sober.

Pretty sure this is at the Forum premiere the following night. Ben, Max, Larry, and Will claiming some good seats.
A little un-cut video from Alex. Bunch of skate action in this one.

Thats all from Alex. Lets end it on this pretty little sunset photo.

We just had a premiere up in Vancouver. Mikey and Darrell headed up there to hang with good ol’ Snarski. Darrell sent me these pictures with little-to-no words behind them, so allow me to improvise each scenario.

This was the 12th and final showing of the night. I think the entire city was there, and unfortunately there was only 1 screen.

There was free beer for everyone. In fact they paid people to drink. $100 and a 12 pack just for showing up.
For reals though, Tj Schneider was there.

Hear No Evil

See No Evil

Smell No Evil

Jan ran out of money as usual and couldn’t afford drinks. Here he is stealing Mikey’s beer. Notice the key on Jan’s neck? Word is he gets so consistently blacked out drunk, and the key necklace is the only way he doesn’t end up homeless.

Darrell after landing a backside 360 double flip….eyes closed…hands in pockets.

Here we have Darrell landing a heelflip over an inverted Mikey….Darrell has mad pop.

Mikey taking a small sip of some sort of energy drink.

Mikey getting loose on a tucknee handplant.

Jan got really smashed the night of the premiere. All Darrell remembers is Jan running naked down the street with a box of laundry detergent. The following morning, Mikey hired a hound dog assisted by a mobile tracking human to sniff him out. Here is where they spotted a naked Jan laying in a pile of bubbles.

They found Jan just in time to catch none other then Steve Nash playing soccer at a near by field.

Darrell threw Steve his shoe to sign.
Thats the end of the Vancouver stop, Jan refused a car ride home…he had his bike.
Check out Alex’s Guest Book entry over at Snowboarder Magazine!
Hopefully if we are on top of it, we can continue this micro-series of good times during the summer. If not, oh well at least there is this one…

This past weekend a big chunk of the VG crew went down to Big Bear Lake, CA for the annual summer contest known as Hot Dawgz and Handrails. Here are some pictures of the pre-game, and afterparty. Sorry no photos from the actual event. I’m sure if you want action photos there are a million on just about every other site.
Ben getting a little warmed up.
Jake getting a lot warmed up!
Jed challenged Laurent to a skate contest in Desiree’s kitchen. Jed’s first run was pretty intense…tail drop off the sink!
Laurent wasn’t to be outdone. His run was too gnarly to take pictures of…Lets just say he took home the Gold!
Jed got second…Johnny was the announcer and handed out a mellow $4000. $4gs is chump change for second in a VG kitchen skate contest. No big deal.
Will, Jed, Louie, Lance, and some prank callers.
Jed letting out a little turtle oooze.
Ben Bilocq and Johnny Miller having a metal moment.
Will “The Master” Bateman
Loading up for a Big Bear dance party…THATS RIGHT!
Larry called shotgun.
Ben and a cup of whiskey. If there is a dance floor, some hard liquor, and a Ben Bilocq…you are guaranteed a show.
Ben likes to use objects to assist his dancing.
Spring Break Jake got a little too into his nickname. Woooooo!
Jake Kuzyks flannel covering Ted Borland’s face and of course a warm welcome from Jake OE.
Chris Bradshaw was throwing soap water on the dance floor all night. Shit got slippery!
Joe Sexton giving a little slippy soap shuffle.
Lance loves the Lakers so much he wore his jacket to the bar.
Jed Anderson repping that Cheese Dick Click.
The End. See you next weekend. Alex Cantin sent me a bunch of photos from the previous weekend. We will do a little backtracking, then maybe Snarski will party it up as he usually does and remember to take some photos. Also, Darrell just got back from a long trip in Europe…maybe he has some photos…Anyways, check back soon fools!

Update on the SLC premiere!!!
We just made the night 10x more entertaining with the addition of Bozwreck 3G!

If you are in the area, you don’t want to miss this. VG, Bozwreck, music from Eric’s band The Fizz, boooze! Be there.
